Cookies Policy
What cookies are, how Softoto uses them, and how you can control them.
1. Introduction
This Cookies Policy explains what cookies are, how we use them on Softoto (softoto.com), and your choices regarding cookies. Non-essential cookies are only set on your device after you accept them.
Softoto is a trading name of Eurl Nitrosoft LTD, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16294173), with its registered office at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom. For any questions regarding cookies, please contact us at contact@softoto.com.
This policy is part of our broader Privacy Policy and should be read together with it.
2. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They let a site remember things between pages and visits — for example, that you have already answered the cookie banner.
- Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser.
- Persistent cookies stay on your device until they expire or you delete them.
- First-party cookies are set by Softoto itself.
- Third-party cookies are set by another company whose service we use.
Similar technologies such as local storage work in much the same way, and this policy covers those too.
3. How We Use Cookies
We keep our use of cookies deliberately small. We use them to:
- Make the website work and serve pages correctly.
- Remember your cookie consent choice, so you are not asked on every page.
- Protect our forms against spam and abuse.
- Understand, with your consent, how visitors use the site so we can improve it.
We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles, and we do not share cookie data with advertisers.
4. Types of Cookies We Use
✅ Necessary Cookies (Always On)
These are essential for the site to function and cannot be switched off:
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
cookieyes-consent | Remembers your cookie preferences | 12 months |
_lscache_vary | Serves the correct cached version of a page | Session |
wordpress_test_cookie | Checks that your browser accepts cookies | Session |
wordpress_logged_in_* | Keeps you signed in — only if you have an account with us | Session |
📊 Analytics Cookies (Consent Required)
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site — which pages are read, which software is looked up, and where people run into problems.
These cookies are only set if you accept them in our consent banner. IP anonymisation is enabled, so visitor IP addresses are truncated before Google stores them. We do not use this data to identify you personally, and we never sell it.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
_ga | Distinguishes one visitor from another | Up to 2 years |
_ga_* | Maintains the analytics session state | Up to 2 years |
🚫 What We Don't Use
- No advertising cookies.
- No third-party tracking pixels — no Facebook Pixel, no ad networks.
- No cross-site profiling or behavioural ad targeting.
- No selling of your data to anyone, ever.
5. Third-Party Cookies
Only two third parties are involved in cookies on Softoto:
| Provider | What it does | Policy |
|---|---|---|
| CookieYes | Displays our consent banner and records your choice | CookieYes Privacy Policy |
| Google Analytics | Measures site usage — only after you consent | Google Privacy Policy |
🔗 A note about download links
When you click a download button, you leave Softoto and go to the software developer's own website. We do not host installers ourselves. Once you are on their site, their cookies and privacy policy apply, not ours.
6. Your Cookie Choices & Consent
🔧 Manage Your Cookie Preferences
You can change your cookie settings at any time by clicking the "Cookie Settings" button in the corner of any page. Our consent banner is provided by CookieYes.
When you first visit Softoto, the banner lets you accept or reject non-essential cookies. Rejecting is as easy as accepting — no analytics cookies are set unless you choose to allow them.
You can withdraw or change your consent at any time using the same button. Your choice is remembered for 12 months, after which we will ask again.
⚙️ Browser Controls
Beyond our own banner, you can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking necessary cookies may stop parts of the site working correctly.
Learn how here:
7. Managing Analytics Cookies
If you would rather not be included in our site analytics, you have several options:
- Reject analytics cookies in our consent banner — nothing is set at all.
- Change your mind later using the "Cookie Settings" button.
- Install Google's opt-out add-on — tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout — which blocks Google Analytics across every site you visit.
- Use your browser's tracking protection or a privacy extension.
Analytics data is retained for up to 14 months and is then deleted automatically.
8. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Cookies Policy when we add or remove a service, or when the law changes. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
If we introduce a new category of cookies, we will ask for your consent again before setting them.
Last Updated: 7 August 2026
