Adobe is an American software company founded in 1982 by John Warnock and Charles Geschke. It created the PDF format and publishes Acrobat, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, and the wider Creative Cloud suite. Adobe Acrobat Reader remains the reference application for viewing PDF files and is free to use. Most of its other products are sold by subscription.
