Thunderbird is a free and open-source email client first released by Mozilla in July 2003 and developed today by MZLA Technologies Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Mozilla Foundation. It handles mail, calendars, contacts and chat in one desktop application, funded by user donations rather than advertising. Licensed under the Mozilla Public License 2.0.
