Mailspring is a desktop email client for Windows, macOS and Linux, built by Ben Gotow at Foundry 376 in 2017 as a fork of the discontinued Nylas Mail. It replaced the JavaScript sync engine with a native C++ one, roughly halving memory use. The interface is GPLv3, though the sync engine itself is not open source and a free Mailspring ID is required to use the app.
