Samsung Electronics was founded in 1969 in Suwon, South Korea, as part of the Samsung group established by Lee Byung-chul in 1938. Alongside its hardware it develops software for its own devices, including the Chromium-based Samsung Internet browser, Samsung Knox security platform and the One UI Android layer. Most of it ships preinstalled on Galaxy phones rather than being downloaded separately.
